Ahead of the games’s release this week, Sony and FromSoftware have released a brand new Bloodborne trailer to ramp up excitement for the upcoming title. Bloodborne is the new and eagerly anticipated action RPG from the creators of the Dark Souls series. The new trailer is a 90-second extended trailer clip titled “Cut You Down”.

We first saw an early preview of the game at the IGN First coverage back in February. The games’ developers had previewed the first 18 minutes of the game as well as an exclusive Bloodborne trailer. From that we know quite a few details as well as the fact that the main hub for players is the Hunter’s Dream. The player needs to find lanterns that are spread across Yharnam in order to return to Hunter’s Dream.

Players can also buy items, upgrade the character’s level by speaking to the Doll, and also repair and upgrade weapons, and attain useful information from an old man in a wheelchair called Gehrman. The main currency in the game will be called Blood Echoes.

Players can earn Blood Echoes by hunting beasts, and performing additional quests. The currency can be used to buy items from the shop in Hunter’s Dream. Players can also repair and make their weapons more powerful using the earned currency.

In the latest Bloodborne trailer there are special items that can be attached to weapons to increase their attacking power, called Blood Gems. Players can also add several special powers to their weapons in the game.

PlayStation 4 owners will be able to interact with the Memory Altar in Hunter’s Dream to upgrade their character by memorising special Caryll Runes. In the Bloodborne trailer, these runs will have special functions such as the ability to carry more items in inventory, boost the amount of currency that a player can receive per each beast hunted, allowing players to customise their hunter as per their preferences.

For PS4 players who have an official PlayStation headset, From Software has revealed that they’ll be able to upload their own custom Bloodborne audio mode which can further enhance the gaming experience using the PlayStation 4 headset app. Bloodborne will be available starting March 27 in Europe, and March 24 in North America. The title will be exclusively available for PlayStation 4.
