This years first batch of free PS Plus games became available on 3 January and feature 4 games for PlayStation 4. The free PS4 games on Playstation Plus for January 2017 are This War of Mine: The Little Ones, Titan Souls, The Swindle, and Day of the Tentacle Remastered.
An Emotional Yet Exhilarating Tactical game and a Hilarious Mutant Adventure
This month’s PS Plus games are a little more varied than most other months and that is illustrated by the first two games. Playstation Plus subscribers on PS4 will have free access to download and play the hilarious mutant adventure Day of the Tentacle Remastered as well as emotional yet exhilarating tactical title This War of Mine: The Little Ones.
Day of the Tentacle Remastered features cartoon characters Bernard, Laverne and Hoagie as they go on an adventure through a range of puzzles. The trio’s objective is to stop the evil intentions of mad scientist Dr Fred Edison after his mutant monster tentacle escapes with plans of world domination.
Players will also enjoy the games’ inventory of hilarious comedic lines as they try and save the world.
Meanwhile, if you haven’t played it yet, This War of Mine: The Little Ones is a tactical game that will take players on an emotional rollercoaster as they explore the consequences of war. The dark yet exhilarating title from 11 Bit Studios is inspired by events during the Bosnian War and the Sarajevo Siege.
This is certainly a contrast to more light nature of Day of the Tentacle as players take charge of save the lives of a group of civilians in the midst of a warzone.
SteamPunk Cybercrime Capers and More Action / Adventure
Curve Digital’s The Swindle is a steampunk cyber crime game that involves breaking into buildings, burglary and hacking while evading the police. Of particular interest will be Scotland Yard’s new surveillance programme which is about to be launched. The only way to stop it will be to steal it from right under their nose!
Buildings in The Swindle are randomly generated so players will never play the same level more than once. Download it here.
Last but not least of January 2017’s free PS4 Games on PlayStation Plus is Devolver Digital’s action adventure title Titan Souls. The game is free to download and is also available on PS3 and PS Vita as a cross-buy title.
