Eagerly anticipated action adventure video game God of War now has a confirmed release date. The upcoming third-person hack and slash title is set for release on the 20th of April 2018. In making the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, Sony Santa Monica also revealed a range of special editions that will be available at launch. In addition, following the announcement of the God of War release date, pre-orders for the game are now open.
God of War Release date: Kratos Returns April 2018
The confirmation of the impending God of War release date is sure to cause much excitement in the PlayStation world. The action adventure hack and slash is a PlayStation exclusive title and its release has been eagerly anticipated for months. Although God of Wars release had already been confirmed for Q1 of 2018, no firm date had been set.
Now a firm date has been announced, and PlayStation 4 gamers will be counting down the days to April 20. And that’s not all, as the good folks at Sony Santa Monica also dropped a new trailer to give us all a sneak peek of what’s to come.

God of War Release date Special Editions
Also coming on the same day as the God of War release date will be a range of special and limited editions of the game. There will also be a digital version available too. In addition, a pre-order offer is available for anyone who reserves any of the God of War editions.
Players in Europe who pre-order the game will receive a Luck of Ages XP Boost. The boost gives you +10 Luck as well as 1 Enchantment Slot.
The special and limited editions feature God of War collectibles such as statues of Kratos and Atreus. In addition there are also steel-book cases, cloth maps and art books in among the different options.
For those that prefer to keep their media in digital format, there will also be a God of War digital edition. The digital version features a full game download, digital art and comic books, as well as a dynamic theme and more. All in all its a great range of special editions to choose from. Consequently the variety should help fans of the game get exactly what they want.
