Sony’s next System Software Update is being readied for its imminent arrival on PS4 and the company has invited PlayStation 4 console owners to test out the new features in beta. The upcoming update and the beta tester invite are the first system software update related since the last one in September 2015.

PlayStation 4 owners who want to get an early sneak peak of the upcoming system improvements and help Sony gain valuable feedback on the update before is rolled out can sign up on this page.

Places on the beta are limited so if you would like to sign up its best to do so as early as pssible.

The latest system software beta begins in March and any gamers who sign up for the early access will receive confirmation of their participation via email. For those not sure if they should take part in the tester, Sony has confirmed that PS4 owners can still roll back to the previous system software at any time after downloading the beta.

Clear instructions will be included in the confirmation email and requirements for eligibility for the test are simply that would-be participants have a PS4 console with an internet connection and a master account.

1TB PS4 Ultimate Player EditionAs another way to contribute to the shaping of the System Software, players can also join the PlayStation Forums focusing on the beta to discuss the upcoming features with fellow PlayStation 4 owners.

While the gaming giant is obviously not able to guarantee that any popular suggestions will make it to the current update at this late stage in its progress, Sony promises to keep an eye on user feedback nonetheless. Any popular suggestions can always be implemented in the future if the PlayStation community voices its opinion strongly.

Ultimately being involved in shaping the System even in a small way is better than having updates to which PS4 owners have no say in. As the company itself said on the PlayStation Blog; ” it’s really valuable for us to hear your feedback to help guide the direction we take. We’re always listening!”
