Video game developers Games Farm has announced the release date of their upcoming PS4 RPG title Vikings: Wolves of Midgard. The Slovak Republic based company also took to the PlayStation Blog to reveal a new trailer for the game. Action RPG Vikings – Wolves of Midgard will launch on PlayStation 4 on 24 March 2017.

First announced in June 2015, Wolves of Midgard is now nearing its much anticipated release on PS4 and the developer recently shared the games progress. The game is a combat-focused RPG set in the end of days and features conflict between Viking clans. Players take on the role of a Viking warrior who returns from a hunt to find his his village destroyed and its chieftain dead.

The challenge of repelling the attacking hordes of evil Jotun warriors therefore falls on you. Your Viking warrior is fully customisable and will posses weapons and magical abilities to take on enemies and triumph through boss encounters. Master the Art of Battle to Progress

In the game players will have to master a variety of weapons that range from two handed hammers and swift bows to your sword and shield. Victory in battles will allow you to unlock gifts, battle powers, and lethal spell powers.

In addition to mastering the art of battle, players will also need to look out for pieces of legendary armour hidden in every level to unlock more powerful gear. Vikings: Wolves of Midgard features many different enemies but the boss battles will be your biggest challenge.

Each players most potent weapon will be rage mode; a bloodthirsty state which serves to enhance your abilities and earn you vital abilities.

Vikings - Wolves of Midgard PS4This is because blood is a key resource in the game you can utilise to level up as well as earn Gift points. Harvesting blood unlock special powers called the ‘Gifts of the Gods’.

Not only will you have to contend with increasingly challenging enemies and boss encounters, you’ll also have to factor in the weather. Freezing conditions, fog, and heat will have a detrimental effect on your energies so tactical thinking is also a must.

According to Games Farm, the game is nearing completion and will feature a main campaign and New Game+ mode. Also also included will be support for a two player online co-op mode so you can take on enemies with a friend.
