As the launch of Sony’s PlayStation VR draws closer, retailers have already begun preparing for the big day by offering some of the systems’ games for pre-order. E-Commerce behemoth Amazon, and american retailer Best Buy have begun listing PS VR games, giving us a glimpse of what the Box Art for the virtual reality games will look like.

The PSVR games currently available on both retailers websites include Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, PlayStation VR Worlds, and RIGS: Mechanized Combat League. Also listed are the PSVR compatible PlayStation 4 games Hustle Kings VR and Super Stardust Ultra VR.

Sony has tried to differentiate the VR titles’ artwork from its PS4 ones with clear labelling. Most noteworthy, this includes banners at the top of the box art denoting ” PlayStation VR Game,” and “PlayStation VR Compatible” banners for PS4 games that can be played on the system.

The Box Art for PSVR exclusive titles also features a “You’ll need These” banner in the bottom right corner which shows the accessories required to play the game. Pictured there are the PlayStation VR headset and the Sony PlayStation 4 Camera.

Some PS4 gamers have already pointed out that despite these clear instructions, the rest of the Box Art still largely looks like that of regular PS4 games. Consequently, is this something which may cause some confusion down the line with gamers buying games they may not be able to play on their consoles?

As a result, some have suggested that perhaps Sony should have made the PSVR covers a different colour in order to have a clear differentiation between PS4 games and PSVR ones. Most of all, the hope is that gamers will be intelligent enough to read the instructions and tell the difference anyway.
