PlayStation VR has been out for just over a month and the folks over Guerilla Games have revealed the details of an update to one of the platform’s most popular games. RIGS Mechanized Combat League is set to receive its first free update in December based on player feedback and planned improvements. The developer has expressed its commitment to post-launch support of the virtual reality game and the first update is packed with new features: details of which you can check out below:

New APX Rigs & Zurich Arena

Guerilla Games‘ winter season update will include a new arena to be added to the existing global rigs circuit. The Zurich Arena will be an extension of the games the Rigs HQ Complex and its first European arena.

Players will need to call upon the skills they have learnt in the month since the games release to succeed during Powerslam Matches. There are several tunnels for the Hunter class, a balanced layout, and a clear overview for the Tempest class.

The first RIGS Mechanized Combat League update will also bring faster and more agile APX rigs to the game. Their speed and agility gives the new rigs an advantage over standard chassis models. However, Guerilla has tried to level things up by giving them a lower armour rating.

Also available in the free December Rigs update will be a new customisation store and items. All the in-game credits earned by players can be used to kit out your rig and pilot in new customisation items and victory celebrations from the new store.

In connection to that, players will now also have the opportunity to earn even more in-game credits through brand new weekly trials series. Players will be able to take part in the trials each week and successful completion will earn you exclusive customisation items and in-game credits.

Further details on the free december update will be released closer to the launch date so keep it locked on PS4 Mag for more. In the meantime share your thoughts with the rest of the PS VR and Rigs community in the comments section below!
