Update:  PS4 System Software Update v2.1 is now available to fix the issues some users were having after updating with V2.0. All you have to do is go to settings then system software update to update.

The new PS4 System Software Update v2.0 has arrived and brings a host of enhancements to PS4 gamers’ experience on the platform. The update, codenamed Masamune, brings with it some long awaited features as well as some requested by the PlayStation community of gamers.

Perhaps the biggest news is the arrival of Share Play, your PlayStation 4 console will now be able to create online local co-op experiences by allowing to ask your friends to join your game even if they don’t own a copy. In addition, it will now be easier for PS4 owners to find gamers they know through suggestions in the ‘What’s New’ section for co-op play advice or spectating.

Another major update is the addition of YouTube Integration: – a dedicated app for YouTube that will allow PlayStation 4 gamers to showcase their skills and achievements by  uploading gameplay highlights directly from their PS4’s  to YouTube by clicking the ‘Share’ button on their DUALSHOCK 4 controller is now available and  can be downloaded on the PlayStation Store.

The V2.0 update, the biggest one for PS4 to date, also adds themes and colours which allows PS4 owners to personalise their home screen background. Gamers will be able to personalise their experience further with the arrival of a USB Music Player option; -players can now listen to their own music in the background by inserting a USB stick in their PS4, although you will not be able to copy your music files onto your PS4 HDD.

The update also makes it easier to look for and discover any of your media quicker through an updated Library and Content Area. In addition, more features such as archived broadcast support and search filters are also part of the V2.0 update.
