It’s almost hard to believe that the first release of the God of War, for the PlayStation 2 (PS2) console, was ten years ago (on March 22, 2005). It seems like it was yesterday when the Santa Monica Studio team published the first version of this action-adventure video game. Time passes quickly!
Creating a new and original game is quite a challenging task for any video game developer. This requires a combination of skill, extensive experience, tenacity, creativity and a very vivid imagination. However, David Jaffe (with the help of development teams of the Santa Monica Studio) succeeded in this when he created the first God of War video game. His vision of a mythological world, with weird game characters and unique game story, was really amazing and insane.
After the great success of the first God of War came the extension of this epic game – God of War II. It is a third person story-based video game, whose gameplay is related to the war between the Gods, Titans and Spartan warriors. This extension has been acclaimed as one of the best PS2 video games in 2007. The third version – God of War III was released for the PlayStation 3 (in 2010), and it certainly continued to be a popular video game like its previous versions.
God of War III Remastered: Kratos Comes to PS4
On the occasion of God of War’s tenth birthday, the fine folks at Santa Monica Studio have announced that the next iteration of the series – God of War III Remastered will be coming to PS4 this summer! The new title has been slated for release on PlayStation 4 on the 17th of July in the United Kingdom.
This exciting action-adventure game will include silky smooth combat, new game characters and bosses, earth shaking weapons, new adventures and many more – with high quality gameplay in 1080p.
In addition to this, the God of War III Remastered will obtain a new photo mode that will enable you to share the most interesting moments of the game (such as battling a Minotaur) with your friends.
