A new wireless headset for the PS4 console has been revealed by Sony.The Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 features a whopping 7.1 virtual surround sound, as well as a noise-cancelling internal microphone for chatting to friends when playing multi-player games online . The headset is slated to be in stores from 10th February 2014 in selected markets from around £79.99 SRP.
The new headset was announced as part of a systems update that enabled the PULSE Wireless Stereo Headset , and the original Wireless Stereo Headset to be compatible with the Playstation 4 console. The update means that gamers on PS4 can now experience voice chat and 7.1 virtual surround sound when using the previuos generation wireless headsets whilst gaming on the PS4. Great news if you’re not ready to get yourself the 2.o Headsets!
Other Features on the The Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 include a folding design for ease of storage when the headset is not in use. And in addition to home use via the headset’s USB wireless adapter on your PlayStation 4, PS3, and even PC, the headset also comes with a 3.5mm stereo mini jack which you can use for gaming on the go on your PS Vita, or for use with any other compatible devices such as media players, or smartphones.
Also announced was the Headset Companion App, which will allows PS3 and PS4 users to access custom sound modes to enhance game-play, plus music and movies as well.All for free. Sound modes are custom tuned to enhance your audio experience whilst gaming on your PS4 console. The first sound mode is reported to be for the eagerly anticipated inFAMOUS Second Son, a PlayStation 4 exclusive game.
