PS4 News updates at the top of the week as the PlayStation Store launches its January Sale with huge discounts and a new single player GT League comes to GT Sport.

PS Store Launches January Sale

The PlayStation Store’s biggest sale of the year launched earlier this week with discounts on over 500 PS4 and PS VR games. There are literally hundreds of offers across Sony’s PS3, PS4, Vita, and VR platforms. In addition, there’s also tons of Season Pass and add-on content available in the sale as well. Notable titles here include The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Expansion Pass, Battlefield 1 Premium Pass and loads more.

PS VR owners have not been forgotten either, the virtual reality platform is well represented in the sale. In addition to PS VR games like Superhot VR, there’s also AAA titles such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR. Also available in the PS Store’s January sale will be a variety of digital titles. Including games like Euro fishing to Grim Fandango and the Mega Man Legacy collection, the list is as long as it is varied.

GT Sport gets New Single Player GT League

In other PS4 news, motor racing title GT Sport got a new Single Player GT League mode yesterday. The new content comes as part of Patch 1.09 for GT Sport which launched 22 December. The latest patch follows hot on the heels of Patch 1.06. Consequently, that brought 15 new cars, game features and extra content. The online title is also available on PS VR and also has its own PS VR bundle.

In addition to the introduction of the new mode, 12 new cars were also added to the game. Notable vehicles among the new arrivals include the Nissan Skyline GT-R V・spec II, Ferrari F40, and the Lamborghini Countach LP400.

Developer Polyphony Digital also dropped a video detailing all the new content that is now available, check it out below:

Lewis Hamilton GT Sport Nürburgring Reference Laps

As if that was’nt enough, Polyphony also released the first of Lewis Hamilton’s mentor videos as part of his role in GT Sport. The formula one ace is featured in two videos, one for beginners, and another for more experienced racers. In the new tutorial, the F1 driver takes on the infamous Nürburgring circuit.

In the videos, the four-time Formula 1 champion provides insights on how he approaches racing on track. Consequently, the content surely makes for interesting viewing as we see one of the best drivers in the world reveal their skills. Take a sneak peak in the Nürburgring reference laps video below:
