Super Dungeon Bros PS4 Game

Following on from Tiny Troopers Joint Ops that launched late last year on PlayStation 4, Wired Productions is now bringing its second game to the platform;Super Dungeon Bros.

While admittedly a bizarre idea to make a game seem like it was produced by members of a fraternity, the game has a surprising amount of charm.  Much of the game text in Super Dungeon Bros revolves around, “Broing out,” and “Rocking on!”  To tell you the truth, it is incredibly hilarious when coupled with the animation style that Wired Production and React Games have opted to use for this little brawler.

The style makes me immediately draw a parallel to a great little game, Castle Crashers.  The kind of chibi style of the characters, the simple detail in the models, and the quirky death animations are almost like an homage to one of the better side scrollers I have ever played.  Now, that isn’t to say that a simple style of artwork is by any means a bad thing.  Instead, it allows for the player to better appreciate different aspects of Super Dungeon Bros.

For example, the layout of the dungeons is very grand for a little brawler.  And the level of detail in some of the screenshots is fantastic for such a quirky little game.  Skeletons in the floor, crisp lines on the brickwork, etc.  The backdrop for the game is surprisingly epic. On top of a good level aesthetic, the spell effects look surprisingly good and crisp, adding to the hilarity of playing such a game with friends.

Nothing is more satisfying than detonating ghouls with buddies and that communal cry of, “Boom!” when an ability goes off.  On top of that, the humor in Super Dungeon Bros is going to make it an excellent party game to share with a friend or three.  While I think the game will be okay solo, the best experience-like with most dungeon crawlers-will be with friends.

I absolutely look forward bro-ing out with a couple buddies and crunching some baddies in Super Dungeon Bros. In addition, PlayStation 4 owners can can also register at www.superdungeonbros.com in order to stand a chance of gaining access to the games BETA phase.
