The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited

Bethesda Softworks has announced that it will launch a closed beta for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited today. The launch date for the title on PlayStation 4 and other consoles has been set to 9th June this year. The closed beta will kick off the pre-launch promotions for the game, and with just six weeks to go for the commercial launch, the closed beta will raise a lot of expectations from the players.

The closed beta for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will be available to players who receive an invitation for playing. The game publisher has already started sending out invitations to eligible players. The closed beta will be available for around 96 hours, from April 23 to April 27. The closed beta on PlayStation 4 will enable players to explore the vast Tamriel without any game subscription for the first time ever.

The company further explained that even though it’s a closed beta, players can still share photos and videos from the game, and there’s no need to sign for an NDA (non disclosure agreement). Players can stream their gameplay live using the PlayStation 4 with the help of Ustream and Twitch apps which are in-built on the latest generation console.

Bethesda Softworks said, in an official statement, that the beta client is actually the complete console version of the game. The complete game is more than the 50GB capacity of a Blu-ray disc which means that the developer ZeniMax Online Studios will push a day-one path worth 15GB which will include the rest of the game. The company recommended users start downloading the closed beta as soon as they receive an invitation.

Players will be able to pick one of the two ‘megaservers’ that the game developer has deployed. These are located in North America and Europe to offer lower latency and better connectivity. There are unique characters on each server. Developer ZeniMax Online will delete the entire beta game progress data when the game launches on PlayStation 4 and other consoles on 9th June this year.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will be priced at $59.99 at launch. It’s a one-time amount that will allow players to have complete access to the entire game, including free updates to the gameplay that the developer ZeniMax Online will deliver later in the future.

There’s no need for a subscription, however there’s a $14.99 monthly pack titled the ESO Plus membership from Bethesda Softworks. This monthly pack offers exclusive bonus content for players, paid DLCs, and in-game currency called Crowns. These Crowns can be used in the game to customise characters and other items.

The company also shared a bunch of new screenshots, highlighting the upcoming game’s new locales and environment that will be accessible to players in the closed beta and the final game. The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will go up for pre-orders on the European PlayStation store soon, according to the company. The game is one of the most anticipated titles of 2015.
