PlanetSide 2 is an MMO first-person shooter game where several soldiers battle it out as a single unit in various targeted missions against enemy empires. The game includes high intensity ground, air, and ground vehicle gameplay. The PlanetSide 2 PS4 closed beta will offer an exclusive early look to interested gamers.

The game spans across four large continents, and the battles can last for several hours at a stretch, and even days or weeks. Sony claims that the game will challenge players with an interesting gameplay that will see players battling it out across empires in planetary wars.

To win battles in PlanetSide 2 PS4, players will need skills like strategic teamwork and a quick reflexes when it comes to pressing the trigger in order to survive the massive conflicts. The game will also offer a number of tools to enable gamers to communicate with each other. This will allow players to create the perfect strategy to win.

PlayStation 4 users who want to try out the closed beta will need to register on the PlanetSide 2 website. Selected players will be sent a redemption code via e-mail. This code will need to be entered on the PlayStation Store to download and test the game.

Sony didn’t reveal how many players it will be accepting for the closed beta. Users will also receive an invitation code to the closed beta forums. Sony expects that PlanetSide 2 PS4  testers will provide feedback to the company once they start trying out the game.

PlanetSide 2 was first released for the PC back in 2012, and since then gamers have been waiting for a port on the PlayStation 4. Sony still hasn’t released a timeline for a formal launch of the PlanetSide 2 PS4 game, but with the closed beta coming up shortly, the final version shouldn’t be too far away now.

PlanetSide 2 PS4’s port to current-gen machines has met with several delays in the past. The game’s developer, Sony Online Entertainment, took the independent route back in February, and is now renamed to Daybreak Game Company. The company is also planning on making several multi-platform titles for other popular gaming consoles.
