With the launch of Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens just around the corner, TT Games has revealed that PS4 and PS3 will also be getting a PlayStation Exclusive Droids Character Pack. The game is slated to launch on June 28th and PlayStation gamers will be able to grab the free downloadable content alongside the main game.

Lego Star Wars The Force Awakens Droid Character Pack

As announced on the official PlayStation blog, the free DLC will be in the form of exclusive Droids Character Pack that will feature a host of Droids from the Star Wars galaxy.

Even in the films under Star Wars franchise, the Droids have always been one of the most talked about characters. And all the excitement will be seen in the game too with a long list of Droids being introduced.

Attack of the Droids

The PlayStation Exclusive Droids Character Pack DLC will come with a really cool bunch of Droids, one of them being the R5-D4 or the “Red”. It is a lesser known droid but is an important astromech.

If you are a super-fan of the Star Wars franchise then you will know that this is the droid that Luke Skywalker bought in the original Star Wars and not the R2-D2 droid. This has a different story to discuss about.

Droids Character PackBesides the R5, the DLC will also offer IG-88, that is a chrome bounty hunter droid and was first seen in the Star Wars: Episode V. The droid has a special rifle and uses its tactics to track down the foes.

The game does not only focus on combat drones, but will also feature some droids like the ME-8D9 and W1-LE. These drones will offer a more civilised way to tackle the situation.

The ME-8D9 can be recognised from the Maz Kanata’ castle in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. W1-LE was Lando Calrissian’s personal droid featured in Star Wars: Rebels, the animated series.

As seen in the recent Lego games, the Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will also come packed with more than 200 characters. Consequently, the icing on the cake is that the original cast has returned to do the voice work. The characters will be unlocked as the game story moves on through your progress in  the game.

The developers have worked tirelessly to improve the gameplay and they have also added six new stories to game. And if you’re looking forward to a few gags and Easter eggs, then you won’t be disappointed, there are hundreds of them! You can check out the Droids DLC trailer below-

A Less Combat-oriented Approach

Alongside the above-mentioned combat droid, the players will get to play with the Captain Battle Droid. This is in addition to Super Battle Droid and the Captain Commando Droid from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. General Grievous, the cyborg Supreme Commander of these Battle Droids, will appear exactly like in the movies and television series. He will be equipped with his iconic lightsabers and his combat manoeuvres.

The PlayStation blog also mentioned that the players will get the Vulture-class droid Starfighter that can be used in the flight level. There will also be an adorable Microfighter version to move around the five free play areas created in the game.

With all these Lego-based Droids for combat missions and the General Grievous, the Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens may turn out to be one of the best and most interesting Lego game that you might have ever played.

The PlayStation exclusive DLC makes the game even more interesting, even before the official launch. As stated earlier, the game will go official on June 28th and the downloadable content will also be available on the same day.
