Piranha Bytes’ RPG title, Risen 3: Titan Lords Enhanced Edition is out today on PlayStation 4.

Previously released on PS3 as Risen 3: Titan Lords, the new game features enhanced graphics and a new difficulty setting that fully takes advantage of the PS4 console’s power.

The Germany based game developer has left no stone unturned in optimising the Risen 3: Titan Lords enhanced edition. Everything from the characters, to the foliage and other in-game aspects have been improved to the higher quality of the PS4 console. This means that the PlayStation 4 version of the game boasts improvements on even the best textures and viewing ranges that the PS3 or PC versions ever had.

Other improvements include the natural reduction of loading times and the ability for the game’s developers to create more realistic and spectacular skies that enhance the enhanced edition’s dynamic day and night cycles. In addition, standard features such as remote play, streaming, recording, and share play are now included as well.

Risen 3: Titan Lords Enhanced Edition will also include all the updates and extra content that has been added to the original version to date. This means that the Adventure Garb, Fog Island, and Uprising of the Little Guys DLCs are also included in the enhanced edition.

The new version therefore has an additional two new island worlds, each with their own storylines, new characters and challenges.

Fans of the original title will also notice new items, landscapes, and monsters to battle.

Lastly, Piranha Bytes has also added a new and more tricky “ultra” difficulty level. This ultimate level will feature opponents that are harder to beat as well as gameplay that has been tweaked to ensure players don’t have it as easy when they take on this challenging level.

Aspects that have been added include more vulnerability during evasive manoeuvres as well as being able to pour a cool-down on potions.

For Risen fans and veterans, the games arrival on PlayStation 4 is a long awaited and welcome development, and newcomers to the game on PS4now also have the opportunity to experience this classic RPG title for themselves too.
