Gaijinworks has just announced that Summon Night 6: Lost Borders is headed to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. The new JPRG adventure title is slated for release in February 2017. Lost Borders will become the second western release of the series after 2015’s Summon Night 5.  As the franchise celebrates its 15 anniversary, Summon Night 6: Lost Borders looks set to be one of the best yet.

Summon Night 6

The arrival of the Summon Night series on western shores is the culmination of many years of lobbying and hard work. Gaijinworks always wanted to bring the game to english speaking countries after its success in Japan. The company was eventually granted an English licence which led to an American release of Summon Night 5 in 2014. The American-based games developer has announced the sequel to that first english release set for launch early next year.

Summon Night 6: Lost Borders

Summon Night 6: Lost Borders focuses on the fortunes of 3 main characters (Raj, Amu and Ist) living their lives separately. Their unusual way of life is soon upended however, as people literally begin falling into their world from the sky. Lost Borders weaves an emotional tale of the characters struggle to accept and understand their new visitors.

Each of the characters has a sidekick with special powers to help them. Together the visitors and 6 original characters will have to face a truly dark secret.

The gameplay in Summon Night 6 stays true to the franchise’ original but is now more streamlined and enhanced. Characters are free to roam without limitation within the game’s environments. The terrain is beautifully rendered in Glorious 3D, and summon magic is available as an assist.

As a result of its launch on both the PS4 and PlayStation Vita, Summon Night 6: Lost Borders will support cross-save. With over a dozen endings to see, JRPG fans on the platforms are in for  a treat!
