Street Fighter V Tips

Street Fighter V is now on PlayStation 4, and despite a shaky start for the game and publisher Capcom, the blockbuster game has been met with lots of enthusiasm from fans of the franchise,- both new and old.

Mastering the game is far different to being a master at it though; which is why CrossCounterTV’s Mike Ross and Ryan “gootecks” Gutierrez have made 2 new video’s to help new and advanced players hasten their advance to being the best warrior. Obviously nothing can replace the lessons learnt through experience, but these tips make make that little bit easier.

Street Fighter V Video Tips for Beginners

Street Fighter V Advanced Tips

A few take-aways from the videos include simple tips like making blocking a strong part of your fighting style as it the safest way to ensure you stay alive, and putting in the practise to perfect signature moves that you can call on when you need them.

Another aspect of the game pointed out in the tips video is that while the game may seem overwhelming due to its speed, experienced players know that there is always time to make better judgements if you stay calm.

Pressing LK + LP simultaneously, another handy tip to know, makes your character perform a throw, which is one of the most deadly moves in the game. Advanced players who are quick enough may also be able to counter a throw by using the same commands.

Street Fighter V Cinematic Story Expansion TrailerIn a near transcript of the video on the PlayStation EU Blog, Ross and Gutierrez also go on to emphasise that while special moves always attract the most attention from players, they are by no means the complete package for any character. Just as important is mastering your chosen characters’  other attacking methods to ensure you are always prepared for any situation.

As a resource for helping out both new and advanced Street Fighter V players, the tips videos above and accompanying list make for a great resource, as do fighting game communities such as Shoryuken.
