Smite PS4 MOBA

The acclaimed hit action MOBA from Hi-Rez Studios, Smite, is now out on PS4. The popular third-person multiplayer action game, which is free to play, comes out of beta for its full launch on PlayStation 4 today.

Since the beginning of its open beta period, Smite has already seen over 20 million players take part, making the game the world’s most popular action MOBA. For those who have never heard of Smite, the game is fast paced and action-packed yet easy to pick up despite the competitive play.

It is these qualities that have made Smite one of the fastest growing MOBA games in recent times.

Smite PS4Players in Smite take on the role of Gods from ancient mythology, each armed with the weapons featured in their stories, as well as their own unique fighting styles and abilities. By putting players directly in the middle of the action, Hi-Rez has seemingly managed to create the perfect third-person perspective MOBA.

Smite pioneered – and perfected – the third-person perspective MOBA. Smite puts you into the heart of the action, not looking down at a tiny character or floating behind a lumbering oaf” wrote Andy Anderson, Senior Producer at Hi-Rez on the PlayStation Blog.

Millions of PlayStation 4 gamers have already tried Smite during the beta and if you haven’t given the game a go, or any MOBA for that matter, then there are few better to start with. For those who have been playing Smite during the beta, you’ll be happy to hear that the game comes with a whole host of improvements at launch.

Updates to Smite include the addition of an activity feed for notifying mates of your achievements, four new gods – which bring the total number to 75, and new small-scale game modes that are designed to help beginners ease their way into the game.

Smite now also has trophies for achievements so players can show off their skills, and the game is now optimised at a whopping 60 FPS!

The updates are not unique however, as the MOBA is regularly updated by Hi-Rez Studios every two to three weeks all year round.

Smite officially launches on PlayStation 4 on May 31 2016.
