Following the continued partnership between EA and Coldwood Interactive, the development team behind Unravel, is Unravel 2 on the way?

Following on from the release of their heartwarming game Unravel earlier this year, Electronic Arts (EA) has announced the extension of its partnership with Coldwood Interactive. The agreement raises the prospects of a possible future release of Unravel 2.

In a short press release EA pointed out the success of the physics-based puzzle platformer and the part that the talented development team at Coldwood Interactive had played in Yarny’s success.The endearing character and the one-of-a-kind game has captured the imaginations of thousands of gamers on PlayStation 4 and created a loyal community built around the title.

Will an Unravel 2 Soon be on the Way?

“At EA, we love working with creative and passionate development teams, in our own studios and our partners.  Which is why I’m very pleased to announce that we’ve signed a new agreement with Coldwood to work with them on their next project.” said Patrick Söderlund, Executive Vice President of EA Studios.

By stating that EA would support Coldwood Interactive in “the next adventure they bring to life,” the press release implies that Coldwood is likely to create new franchises as well as possibly making an Unravel 2 game.

While information is still thin on the ground the development is sure to cheer Unravel fans and those who have enjoyed Coldwood Interactives’ work so far.

All this is just pure speculation though, as is whether the Unravel sequel will be called Unravel 2 at all. Whatever happens, PS4 Mag will keep you updated with any further developments as they occur.
