Ratchet & Clank Release Date on PS4

The release dates for Ratchet & Clank on PS4 have been confirmed as Insomniac Games took to the PlayStation Blog to make the announcement and show off the games’ box art.

The PlayStation 4 version of Ratchet & Clank is due for release first in France first and will be out in the country on 15 April 2016. The game will become available in all other PAL regions on the 20th of the same month.

Being the first instalment of Ratchet & Clank on the PlayStation 4 console, the game will feature a new storyline that will still be based on the franchises’ original story. Only this time players in Ratchet & Clank will follow the games’ story through the eyes of Captain Qwark. Check out the box art below:

The PS4 edition has however been upgraded with new Ratchet & Clank controls, brand new fight sequences, and improved gameplay. The PS4 edition will also include completely new planets and Boss fights to bring the game up to date with today’s current generation of consoles. Also added to the game are new characters who will join the original cast in adventures around Solana Galaxy.

The arrival of Ratchet & Clank on PS4 will coincide with the franchises’ big screen début as Insomniac Games works on completing both for release in the first half of 2016. The Ratchet & Clank motion picture will be in theatres April 29 2016. The games studio also promises to have some surprises in store for Ratchet & Clank fans watching the film.

For the Ratchet & Clank movie, the original games’ voice actors actors such as James Arnold Taylor (Ratchet), David Kaye (Clank) and Jim Ward (Qwark) will take up their roles again for the motion picture. Animation production for the film is being carried out by Rainmaker Entertainment, and both current and former Insomniac veterans are overseeing the project.

Insomniac Games’ North Carolina and California studios are both involved in developing the game for PS4, with many of the games’ original developers working on the current version.

With the release of the game on PlayStation 4 only a few months away, it may be time to dust off those old Ratchet & Clank games to brush up for the PS version.
